Embedded Software Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for an Embedded Software Design Engineer.

What you will do:  The Embedded Software Design Engineer develops control algorithms for embedded controllers, implements control algorithms using Assembly and C programming languages, and develops MISRA C compliant code. The role assists in developing hardware/software test plans, develops detailed software design documentation, and develops unit and integration test plans. The position performs unit and integration testing, oversees laboratory testing, and participates in design reviews. Additionally, the Embedded Software Design Engineer interacts with OEM customers.

What you will need: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology. Software development experience using C software for embedded controllers. Knowledge of CAN and LIN communication protocols and diagnostics. Understanding of automotive EMC requirements. Motor controls experience (permanent magnet brushed DC motors, DC stepper motors). Hands-on electrical and software testing experience. Understanding of safety critical systems design. Understanding of ASPICE software development process. Experience using Vector CAN tools. Working knowledge of LabVIEW programming.
