Embedded Software Engineer-Functional Safety

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a tier-one automotive supplier. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Functional Safety Engineer.

What you will do: The Functional Safety Lead serves as the lead for ISO26262 functional safety deployment in North America, reviews customer product requirements, including design elements where safety is (or may be) required, and identifies core product design elements. The role identifies risks relative to the end customer, the OEM, affected Tier Customers, and the company in order to ensure that the Top-Down safety architecture achieves the Safety Goal, while also negotiating with the customer applied (or unapplied) ratings to ensure the selected is in alignment with Element/Item/System roles and responsibilities. The position completes development interface agreement (DIA) forms for each project, supports the North American Sales Team with quotations, and supports cyber security initiatives. Additionally, the Functional Safety Lead leads functional safety work product reviews, audits and assessments and maintains project safety plan in alignment with project management and engineering departments according to development process.

What you will need: Bachelor’s in Engineering. Current experience in functional safety within the tier-one automotive space.
