Movement Search & Delivery, a professional headhunting firm with a global reach, has signed a long-term lease agreement to expand their operations into Royal Oak, MI. The company is currently building out space in the historic Washington Square Building, to house an additional 15+ professional recruiters. In less than eight years, the search firm has grown from a staff of 3 to over 45 headhunters along with an additional 30 billable consultants who work for MOVEMENT’s clients on contractual assignments. With this most recent announcement, the firm now has four offices including their headquarters in Clarkston, MI. and operations in Phoenix, AZ. and Charleston, SC. Doug Scott, President and a founding member of MOVEMENT states, “We ran out of space to grow here in Clarkston so we took the opportunity to explore, expanding our footprint in SE Michigan. We have a good portion of our associates who live in, and around, the Royal Oak community. We also have an obligation to create opportunities for professional growth by allowing them to build their own teams. After an exhaustive search, the Washington Square Building in the heart of downtown Royal Oak made perfect sense for us.” The building was built in 1927 along with, and adjacent to, the iconic Royal Oak Music Theater. The entire complex was designed with rich accents and an art deco motif that was extremely popular during that period of time. Scott adds, “We are going to strip the entire space down to its bones exposing the poured concrete infrastructure. The office will look and feel very industrial, and at the same time we will have some very clean and modern design elements incorporated with art deco features that pay homage to the heritage of the building. The company’s culture is defined by the cool space that we work in and MVMT Royal Oak will be no different.” Derek Pennycook has been recently promoted to Managing Director and he will lead the team based in Royal Oak. Mr. Pennycook joined the firm 7 years ago as one of their first Headhunter Support Specialists immediately after graduating from college at Michigan State University. He is now one of the firm’s top producers and a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. Pennycook comments, “I love this business and I love MOVEMENT. I started with the firm as a young greenhorn and now I have the pleasure to lead many of the best headhunters in the recruitment industry. I am excited to bring in and mentor new talent. This place is like home to me and I want others to experience the opportunities that this company and this business has provided for me. I am so excited for what the future holds for us.” For more information visit www.movementsearch.com
