Ryan LaForge

Movement started out as a search firm that did only direct-hire placements. Our strategy was to build out that business and then find a leader with a proven track-record of success in contract staffing who can do it all—recruit, build teams, manage clients, and lead the practice through torrid growth. Well, we found our guy; his name is Ryan LaForge. Ryan is everything you could ask for in a person. He is as dependable, loyal, and as trustworthy as they come. His ability to get granular with every last detail of a placement coupled with the understanding and vision of the big picture for the practice in the future is beyond impressive. Ryan’s education and experience as an engineer gives him instant credibility with his clients and candidates that allows for him to deliver spot on technical staffing solutions every time.

Greg Giltner

Greg has been a leader in the search business since 1999, working for a large national firm, then a small boutique, and finally on his own for over 10 years before joining Movement. In a nutshell, Greg Giltner knows a thing or two about the recruiting business. We got to know Greg over the years and the firm counted on him to deliver us candidates that we wouldn’t have found otherwise. He has honed the art and science of identifying and attracting top talent through well crafted, and customized posts strategically placed on the web. Greg has developed a unique candidate screening process that is world-class and stands as the gold standard in the recruitment business.

Now, he is in charge of Movement’s National Candidate Recruitment Center (C.R.C.), based in his hometown of Charleston, SC. This state of the art Recruitment Center has been built to become the engine that drives candidate flow for Movement’s searches throughout N. America and globally. A lot of really exciting things are happening here at Movement; Greg and the C.R.C. play a huge part in all of it.

Chris is a headhunting machine and a true anchor for our Charleston office.

Kevin Goebel

With over 7 years in the search business, he took to it quickly at a very young age and he has never looked back. Steve Klein is a veteran of 23 years in the executive search industry. After spending the past 15 years at the helm of his own firm, Steve has decided to join forces with MOVEMENT. Steve is a respected recruiter in the automotive, electronics, packaging, and industrial manufacturing arenas, assisting his clients in making strategic hires throughout their respective organizations. We have amongst us at Movement, yet another seasoned professional who has dedicated his career to the business of headhunting. A 27-year veteran of executive search, Matt is the digger of all diggers when it comes to finding rare, hard-to-find talent. His search practice has taken him to all corners of the globe as he is absolutely relentless in his pursuit of finding the perfect fit for his clients’ openings. Extremely technical, Matt educates himself extensively on every industry that he finds himself working in. When clients work with Matt, they know he does not rest until the search has been successfully completed.

• Previously owned a resume consulting business (published some articles for national publication and did seminars) for 5 years.
• Moved into Headhunting with Aim Executive/Spherion/Mergis from 1996 to February of 2011.

A Headhunting veteran for over 12 years, he is constantly connected to his clients and candidates 24/7, 365. Geoff has seamlessly moved in and out of multiple specialty verticals and industries throughout his career. His ability to quickly adapt and learn the nuances of each search requirement that he takes on is beyond impressive. Bill Varon

Movement was originally founded back in 2009 by a small group of recruiters who had previously worked together for a large, national staffing company. Fast forward several years later, most of the original team has now been reassembled and is working under the Movement banner. Bill was one of the guys that got away. After 10 years as a top producer in the recruitment biz, he left it in 2008 and immersed himself for another 10 years as an IT sales and implementation consultant specializing in ERP solutions. Now, he is back where he belongs. Back in the business of Headhunting and with all of his old friends and colleagues at Movement. To say we are beyond thrilled to have this seasoned, uber-talented veteran back in the mix is an understatement. Journey is still a really good rock band but it is not the same without Steve Perry belting out the lyrics. Welcome back to the band, Bill Varon.

Before diving into the people business, Stephen crunched numbers as a staff accountant and financial analyst after earning his accounting degree from Central Michigan University in 2010 (Fire Up Chips!). But spreadsheets couldn’t compete with the thrill of chasing top talent and closing dream hires.

Based in Royal Oak, Michigan, Stephen is a proud girl dad to twin tornadoes of joy and married to his favorite person, Rebecca. When he’s not playing matchmaker for companies and candidates, you’ll find him at the gym, at a concert, playing baseball, or at the bowling alley rolling his next 300 game.

Emma Smith

Emma Smith is a Charleston native and proud College of Charleston grad (Class of 2018, B.A. in Business Administration). Before diving into the world of executive recruiting as a Headhunter Support Specialist at MOVEMENT, Emma spent 8 years wearing many hats as an office and operations manager for several small businesses. There she honed her skills in organization, multitasking, and keeping things running smoothly.

On the personal side, Emma also spent many years galloping through the competitive equestrian circuit across the Southeast. These days, you’ll find her chasing sunrises on the water, keeping up with her energetic pup, or curled up with a good book. Passionate about people, connection, and a well-organized spreadsheet, Emma brings equal parts heart and hustle to the MOVEMENT team.
